La Yellow Cube Gallery a le plaisir de vous pr\u00e9senter <\/span>Rooms<\/b>. \u00c0 travers cette nouvelle s\u00e9rie, Sigrid poursuit son exploration de la m\u00e9moire, de l’intime et des espaces habit\u00e9s en d\u00e9pla\u00e7ant son regard vers les objets du quotidien et les mat\u00e9riaux porteurs d’histoire. Chaque \u0153uvre rassemble des fragments issus d’univers disparus : tissus us\u00e9s, images anciennes, \u00e9l\u00e9ments ordinaires qui ont travers\u00e9 le temps et conserv\u00e9 les traces de vies anonymes.<\/span><\/p>\n N\u00e9e en Su\u00e8de, ayant v\u00e9cu entre la Norv\u00e8ge, New York, l\u2019Ukraine et aujourd’hui \u00e0 Oslo, Sigrid nourrit depuis toujours une r\u00e9flexion sur le foyer, le d\u00e9placement et l’identit\u00e9. Son parcours entre plusieurs cultures influence profond\u00e9ment sa pratique artistique.<\/span><\/p>\n Les objets repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s semblent provenir de maisons aujourd’hui absentes. Une prise, un tissu, un motif ou une image deviennent les fragments d’une m\u00e9moire recompos\u00e9e. En changeant d’espace, ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments acqui\u00e8rent de nouvelles significations et nous invitent tous \u00e0 projeter notre propre histoire.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00c0 travers des techniques mixtes m\u00ealant textiles r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9s, transferts d’images et superpositions de mati\u00e8res, Sigrid compose des \u0153uvres o\u00f9 chaque fragment conserve sa m\u00e9moire tout en participant \u00e0 un nouveau r\u00e9cit. Cette pratique sensible donne naissance \u00e0 des paysages domestiques o\u00f9 l’intime rejoint le collectif, invitant le visiteur \u00e0 parcourir ces espaces reconstruits comme autant de lieux de contemplation, de transmission et de r\u00e9silience face \u00e0 notre histoire collective et individuelle.<\/span><\/p>\n The Yellow Cube Gallery is pleased to present <\/span>Rooms<\/b>. Through this new series, Sigrid continues her exploration of memory, intimacy, and lived spaces by turning her gaze toward everyday objects and materials steeped in history. Each work brings together fragments from vanished worlds: worn fabrics, old images, and ordinary objects that have stood the test of time and retained traces of anonymous lives.<\/span><\/p>\n Born in Sweden, having lived in Norway, New York, and Ukraine, and now based in Oslo, Sigrid has long reflected on the concepts of home, displacement, and identity. Her journey across multiple cultures profoundly influences her artistic practice.<\/span><\/p>\n The objects depicted seem to come from homes that no longer exist. A socket, a piece of fabric, a pattern, or an image become fragments of a reconstructed memory. As they shift from one space to another, these elements take on new meanings and invite us all to project our own stories onto them.<\/span><\/p>\n Using mixed media techniques that combine salvaged textiles, image transfers, and layered materials, Sigrid creates works in which each fragment retains its own memory while contributing to a new narrative.
